Knocking out a permanent tooth is a true dental emergency! Don’t be afraid to contact your dentist right away. If you knock out a permanent tooth, here's what to do:
1. Hold the tooth by the crown and not the root so as not to spread bacteria unto the root.
2. Rinse dirt or any debris off with room temperature water but be gentle with the root.
3. Try to reinsert the tooth until you get to the dentist and hold it into place.
4. If reinserting is not an option, keep it moist by covering it with milk or water.
5. For optimal outcome, try to get to a dentist within 30 minutes.

Hello Dr Spiros Just a quick note to tell you again how much appreciated your care and attention to my problem was. I would have to go very far to find a finer and more caring doctor if ever to be found! I will be visiting Dr G in Cape Town on Wednesday to finalise the issue. Most important I am out of pain and all wrinkles have returned to the right side of my face. Once again, many many thanks. Best regards

Hi Dr Kavalieratos Having healthy gums and teeth is something that we all take for granted. It's only when things go wrong that we search for alternatives. I have had the experience of rehabilitating my own mouth over the last few years and it is only the result of excellent Dentists and Surgeons, as well as up to date technology like Dental Implants that I feel like I have got a second chance of enjoying the benefits of a healthy mouth. A dental implant is like having a new tooth in your mouth. It's impossible to tell the difference between an implant and a real tooth. Multiple implants is also a possibility. Nothing seems impossible these days - some personal research is beneficial in order to gain more practical understanding of Dental Implants. It's worth all the preparation, planning, surgery and cost. Just make sure you pick the right dental team. Thanks to Dr AA, Dr SK, Dr MS Kind regards
